The hormonal changes manifested on my skin. My face and scalp were oily. So there were also pimples and hair loss, then I changed my shampoo and it’s ok now. Though my face still has spots, they recover faster than pre-pregnancy days… except my chest. My chest had breakouts too but they are not really like acne, they’re blister-like but no pus, so those were very disturbing and they dun heal readily. Hus said they were due to the extra blood circulation to the breasts so I should be okay in a while… Very encouraging right?
I think there’s a period of stabilizing; then my complexion improves after a while, but still the chest is blistered… I’m still putting on weight and my appetite improves after abt week 18, but I’m now really scared abt excessive weight gain. I became quite fussy abt food and smells; I love cold food and drinks. I hope to eat well and balance daily, I start my morning with pills cocktail recommended by the Doc. I’m always thirsty.
My nails and hair are growing at an alarming rate; I guess the same is for the boy inside me. I felt gentle movements of him initially, now heavy “thuds” that you won’t mistaken it for something else.
My legs feel stronger although they look as flabby as ever. I went for my 1st on Sunday, 2nd November, my kicks propelled me to distance I couldn’t achieve previously. I totally lose my tan and look quite pale. I dun make-up because I’m afraid it worsen my skin condition.
I wake up with body aches and full bladder most of the time. My body feels warm most of the time. I walk slower than before but much faster than I was in my 1st trimester. My memory is incredibly lousy; it takes a lot of effort to stay attentive in class.
I feel totally un-sexy despite of the fuller busts. The skin around my tummy always feels itchy. I rarely remember I’m pregnant in dreams. I perspire and blush more easily…
The biggest change is I appreciate my parents more, and I think it’s much easier to love my mum now. I’ve learnt that Hus is a responsible man too, a loving husband and Father-in-making.
