Weekend of 2-4 Sep

I have a great weekend, it began on Friday when I had to get excited, anxious over my little brother's wedding. I'm making the traditional red date tea for his in-laws and my family. For the usual me, that's stressful for reasons I do not know.

So Sat morning, the alarm was set at 6am and I was up at 4.30am. Insomnia has been my best friend for a while now. I started preparing the sweet tea.

The end of the wedding marked the beginning to another big thing on the list. Hus did his 100km, and kids and I sent him off and picked him up.

In between... was driving, parking, buying, driving, sleeping in car to get the motivational food supplies to him. then 17hrs later, Hus completed his 100km with his proud kids waiting at the finish line...

Come come come, anyone need pacer? talk to his manager, me... I'll follow with a quote.

our little past week

Some pictures uploaded to satisfy some eye cravings... It's been a really busy week, busy adapting to the new schedule. My day starts at 6am and ends at 11pm.
6am - I cook soup and prepare dinner vegetables or meat or fish for dinner. Marinate or cut, etc.
6.45am - shower and make up, but usually delayed by waking up children asking for milk and telling me abt their reluctance to be in school that day.. and I repeat what I say every other day. "Everyone has a role, we learn in school when we are young and work when we are older...." That normally invite some more fuss... Then the sure go is "if u want to be a good soldier or pilot, you have to start preparing yourself now... Learn as much you can" My little boy has strong aspirations. :)
7.15am - prepare the children for school. Kay will poo every morning and Thaddeus will only do that occasionally.
7.45am - we should have left home but usually there is major delays at putting on shoes. They are spoilt for choice and there might be some dispute on who opens the gate, then off we go to school. Kay in the carrier and Thad walked his way there.
They will be in school before 8.30am and I'll be waiting for my bus to work. It takes me another 40-60 mins to reach China square where my office is and I'll make phone calls and look pretty to receive interviewees until 3pm.
4pm - pick my "motivation" up, the 2 brightly lit faces with their million watt smiles. We walked home at their pace of walking and learning, naming every vehicle on the road.
4.45pm - 5.45pm - cook dinner and occasional hair pulling moments when kids cannot play together and indulge in a scream play. Usually Thad poo at this slot too (how hygienic... The person who cleans him, cooks. Whahaha)
6pm - kids are served dinner.
6.30 pm - shower the rice decorated hair children (sometimes by hus if he back) wash up and cook the 2nd round of dinner. For adults only, stronger taste and may be spicy.
8pm - bed time for kids.
9pm - laundry time.
10pm - designated sleep time.
11pm - usual sleep time.

The above are for Monday to Thursday. I dun cook on Fri, sat and Sundays. But I wake up early on either Saturday or Sunday to do marketing for the week. Cleaning the floor on either of the weekends too. Hmm... I love my blessed life.

That was Kay in crystal's soft toy clothes... She is so small...

have yourselves a merry little christmas...

How was Christmas and December for u? It's busy busy busy for the goh. It started with children falling quite ill in mid December and loads of Christmas stuff going on after...

Making full use of your gifts. With all your creativity...

Loads of Christmas decoration in town.

and more presents... Loads of love from everyone...

And a good long rest for papa after being diagnosed with hand foot mouth disease... Our church friends say he is the oldest child for hfmd and said he must be young at heart... While I think "at least in his palm and sole (soul); he is still really young."

Couple time

We managed another 3.5 hrs of alone time. This time I was better at ease, everyone improves with time, I wasn't checking for a SOS msg/call every 10 mins. I checked at every 30 mins.
Whahaha!

Enoch and Janna helped out while we caught a romantic comedy. It's funny even though the plot isn't new or storyline isn't fresh. Movie title is "change up".
We had supper after the movie, as the children were asleep, we didn't go straight home. Our
kiddos are getting so easy to manage and our sitters are so highly dependable. We ate with both hands and weren't rushing a tiny bit. We returned home to 2 beautiful sleeping children and a freshly showered Janna. Everyone was happy .... All smiles and ready for the night except Thaddeus wet himself, pee-ed in his pants and in bed. Janna forgot to bring him to the toilet since 7pm, Thad hadn't reminded her.

"that's why he took forever to fall asleep..." gasped my little sissy.

Update on Saturday

Sorry for the super late update. Kayla fared quite well that evening, she slept over granny's without mommy right beside her. She had a 15 to 20 mins wailing session just before she fell asleep. Overstimulation is most likely the cause of it. Well, I didn't enjoy myself despite the long anticipation, the 2nd minute I left my children, I start missing them. Kay was always on my mind, I kept checking with my sis via messaging. Not so much couple time in the end. *pout*

"Sensored"

I'm excited abt tmr. We're leaving Kayla to my mum and sister while hus and I go for a wedding dinner. If she managed to fall asleep, she will stay over at granny's place tmr; Thaddeus will be with her. She turns 15 months tdy and walking around the house on her own now.
Anyone below 18 years old, please stop here!

Hus and I will be getting some time on our own, I'm looking for some reconnection. I was enlightened on Monday that talking (talk, listen, and be heard) is a woman's need.

To most woman, such level of communication with her partner so important that is comparable to the importance of sex to a man. Plainly, men need sex as much as women need to talk. When I heard this from a male friend, it felt like the heaven opened up and gold coins showered upon me for 10 seconds. Lucky for my friend's wife, he knows woman better than I know myself.

Maybe that's what was missing.

Since staying home, I find myself feeling worse and worse about myself. I have little things to talk to hus abt. I only have 2 bosses, and my world revolves around them. I meet less than 30 people a week and talked to less than 10; all these includes Sundays(church).

When hus is at home, I update him the things abt home, those stuff boring enough that it was done with 1 or both of us talking with our SMART phones in hands; most of the time, the tv is on and the kids are sleeping. Absolutely, no eye contact or whatever.

Seriously, with children who sleep so early, we are losers in time management. With some much going on, what kind of feedback will u expect to get. A nod is best.

Usually, whatever I said seemed unheard and interpreted as unimportant and unconcerned.
So I came up with a new abbreviation for SMART phone- Spoil Marriage And Relationship Technology. Although not the best English, it is the best description. Marriage; relnship of boy-girl, parents-child, etc.

I even thought thru the observations that might back up belief of the woman's needs. Lady readers, it's alright if u need to show this account to your partners. Handsome readers, please apply it to get good fulfillment in your needs. *wink*

Evidence 1: women who dun talk enough to their partners, talk long hours on phones.

Evidence 2: woman marries more alcoholics than workaholics.

Evidence 3: lesbians are getting popular because both parties are fulfilled adequately.

I made up the 3rd one because one of my good friend's ex girlfriend turned lesbian. Strange yet not so... Lastly, I hope
reconnection starts happening for us soon; we also have a kind couple, Enoch and Janna, who offered to throw in more dinner/movie dates soon.

I rarely talk abt my marriage, this is quite juicy right?

A fairy tale come true...

Although, very late... My dad and mom get to ride on the horse carriage... with their 3 little grandkids, of course!

The day finished with a loving reward...

hus wanna ride again

Call me morbid. Hus is going to view a motorcycle this afternoon and if he likes it, he'll buy it.
Since he told me abt getting a bike 2 wks ago, I've been imagining myself being a widow. I recognized the convenience a bike is going to bring to the family and I will also appreciate the extra time hus can be with us; I still couldn't help but get worried.
Since he informed me abt the viewing, the images of lone me with 2 young children repeatedly appear in my mind... May God give him special grace, special journey safety.

First and foremost, I will like to thank hus for buying me a phone. It's a not too bad phone but ... It's not doing well in blogging. Not yet, hopefully..
Because blogging is a large component of my usage of phone, I couldn't stop lamenting. I miss my laughable non-smart e71.
I thought smart phones ain't named correctly. Sigh...
My desire s doesn't load the Blogger page well. Hence putting pictures caused a super delay. Then it has a lot of pre-loaded applications that are not useful to me, saved in phone memory, that can never be removed.
That said, I wouldn't prefer an i-phone. I'm so hard to pleased... I know!

cheap thrills

We met cousin Jazz for dinner yesterday, it was a nice catching up session. I think the last meeting was late april, the 60s party. She really wanted to see the kids.
Hus managed to leave office early to meet us earlier than plan. While he recounted his early departure, he grinned excitedly which caught jazz's attention. After she found out why hus was so happy, she casually said "cheap thrill". It was a new term for me but I like how well it fit my beloved husband.
My hus is a man of simple pleasures at 32 yo. I'm not sure if he's so before, I only knew him better at age 27. He "preach" abt contentment and he practises it... Maybe that's why I like him. We're similar in this aspect but he's much simpler than me.
We would be happy with more spending power but we're contented with having enough. We save a little when we live by every dollar. We pamper ourselves once in a while in restaurants we used to enjoy before my career switched, we will walked out happy with stomach filled with happy food and well-behaved kids.
Hus is happy to know his kids are fed on schedule, slept at appropriate time, are healthy. He isn't interested in baby olympics (whether his children are doing better than their peers), he is happy when pple praise them.
He might be the source of the happy genes in our kids; our little family of simple pleasures. I adore my simple handsome man.

fast and furious 5

anyway, hus and I (and kayla) caught fast and furious 5. It was a good movie and good time spent together. I can't remember when was the last time we enjoyed some couple time.
And not to mention, kayla behaved and gave us the little magic. She's there but not there. She slept for 1.5 hrs during the movie, and remained quiet and "watched" the last 30 mins.
thank you children for making today possible.

we could use some courtesy here

my hus has pms - mood swings. I knew it bfor we were married but lately it's getting on my nerve.
He likes to ridicule, insult, demean and mock; he rarely encourages. Sometimes after a long day with 2 crazy lack of sleep children, his unappreciating attitude plus a little putting me down made me wanna chase him out of the conveniently clean and quiet house. I would shaft 2 chopsticks into his nostrils bfor he leave too... I also wanna call him an asshole.

have a blast, this weekend

We're sleep-over club this weekend, bunking in at maiden's. My beloved hus, their beloved papa, has gone to have fun at bali. *pout*
it's his annual company trip, not quite a pro-family company. *jeers* the highly overworked and neglected wife, me, and the super-missing-papa kids are lover-less this weekend.
Alright, jokes aside. My hus isn't going to enjoy himself quite very much. He's the man-in-charge on this trip. He will likely be busy, busy, busy. I'm glad all this will be over soon. Then he can slow down a little at work and enjoy his birthday that's to come soon.
It's nice to be missing him and realising why you chose to marry him and not somebody else. But I can't say that for my children though, I dunno who they'll choose if they have a choice. Oops! *gasp*
the little gohs are really enjoying the stayover...
